CuriousWorks

CuriousWorks is a South West Sydney-based organisation built by and for Western Sydney artists. The organisation exists at the intersection of contemporary multi-arts practice and community arts and cultural development, working across art forms and disciplines, with a focus on screen works, digital media, and emerging art forms. Artist-led and dedicated to embedded long-term community engagement, our strengths emanate from a core staff and a network of creatives with deep connections to the localities we operate within and the communities we serve.

Our projects and programs have included embedded grassroots programs like ReFILL (a STEAM arts-in-education program at Miller Technology High School); leadership and skills development programs such as Stories of Welcome (regional story-telling workshop program for new migrants and refugee artists) and Testing Grounds (creative development and paired mentorship program for early-career artists); and creating artworks like meet me at the next stop (2022) (a mixed media installation built on a bus stop), Handle with Care (2021) (a multi-arts print zine), and Make Yourself at Home (2020) (an online digital time capsule of the 2020 NSW lockdown). We also provide employment pathways and career development opportunities through our robust fee-for-service Social Enterprise program.
